Aim of the examination:

• Imaging of lymphatic drainage

Indications:

• Primary or secondary lymphoedema

Preparation for the examination: no special preparation on the part of the patient is necessary

Procedure of the examination:

• Consultation with the doctor to explain any uncertainties regarding the examination
• Visualization of the lymphatic drainage:
  • Injection of the radiopharmaceutical into the space between the fingers or toes
  • Taking several images along the lymphatic pathways
• The findings are sent to the requesting doctor in writing as soon as possible

Radiopharmaceutical used: Tc-99m labeled colloidal particles (e.g. denatured albumin)
