PET-CT combines high-resolution anatomical imaging using CT and information about metabolic processes in the body using PET. This combined examination method has clear advantages, particularly in cancer diagnostics, as it enables precise findings about the spread of the disease or the response to therapy. Tumor recurrences can also be detected and assessed at an early stage. Indications in the field of cancer diagnostics include lung cancer, colon cancer, and lymphoma.

However, PET-CT has not only proven itself in cancer therapy. In neuroscience, this special examination procedure is used to diagnose dementia or epilepsy. In cardiology, PET-CT is also used in blood circulation and vitality diagnostics.
