Aim of the examination: Detection of ectopic gastric mucosa

Indications:

Unclear abdominal complaints (with bleeding) in children
Unclear chronic anemia (especially in children and adolescents)

Preparation for the examination: no special preparation on the part of the patient is necessary

Procedure of the examination:

• Consultation with the doctor to explain any uncertainties regarding the examination
• Injection of the radiopharmaceutical
• Acquisition of the images over approx. 1 hour
• Further images are taken after time intervals of 40, 50 and 60 minutes, late images may be possible
• Debriefing
• The findings are sent to the requesting doctor in writing as soon as possible
