F-18-Cholin
F-18 choline is a nuclear medicine procedure that can be used to image parathyroid adenomas. .
Indications:
- Clinical evidence of parathyroid adenoma
- No localization of the parathyroid adenoma is possible using sonography or MIBI scintigraphy
Preparation for the examination: none
Procedure of the examination:
- Doctor's consultation to explain any uncertainties regarding the examination
- Injection of the radiopharmaceutical
- Imaging immediately after injection and 30 minutes after injection
- Neck sonography if necessary
- The findings are sent to the requesting doctor in writing as soon as possible
